Hossein Firoozabadi

I’m an M.Sc. multi-disciplinary student who’s taking a double degree in biotechnology and bio-entrepreneurship.
In 2017, I ranked 20th in the Iranian university entrance exam in chemical engineering-biotechnology. As time went on, I was selected as one of those students who could enter the bio-entrepreneurship program which was held by Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) and Copenhagen Business School (CBS). At CBS we made a team of seven students and learnt how to work as a team writing a business plan for the production of highly pure schizophyllan. Therefore, Studying at CBS provided me with a new insight into both business and science giving me a clear vision of transferring knowledge into value.

Consequently, I should have been working on two distinct theses on both scientific research and bio-entrepreneurship programme. In my research thesis, I’m using a genome-scale metabolic model to improve the electricity generation by Synechocystis sp. PCC6803 in photosynthetic microbial fuel cells (PMFCs).
