Mahsa Mekanik

I aim to analyze the metabolic network of a green microalga to gain a deeper understanding of its metabolic and regulatory processes in order to economical production of new generation of biofuels and other valuable commodities.

As the first step, I’m doing the reconstruction of the metabolic network. I will simulate growth through constraint-based modeling and evaluate the constructed model in next step. Then I will do my project-specific analysis. My research interest also includes using bioinformatics tools and I intend to integrate transcriptome data with the metabolic network to reach more accurate systemic insight to this biological process.
